The Bible is full of truth and wisdom. Regularly engaging with it allows us to discover the living God who offers us guidance, comfort, and hope. More importantly, when we regularly immerse ourselves in scripture, it supernaturally transforms us to be more like Jesus.
Simple Rhythms: Worship
Worship is anything we do that displays how precious and important God is to us. Worship can be prayer. When we pray, we turn to God and communicate with him. Prayer demonstrates that God is important because we depend on him.
Simple Rhythms: Fasting
Fasting is an exercise that has been practiced throughout history by people of faith. It’s often associated with abstaining from food, but it is a powerful tool for spiritual growth and intimacy embraced by individuals seeking deeper spiritual connection and clarity. It is not about starvation or punishment. Instead, it’s an intentional sacrifice teaching us self-control and dependence on God.
Simple Rhythms: Creeds
Creeds have guided and sustained the faith of believers for centuries. They serve as foundational statements of our faith providing a framework for understanding and articulating the core truths of our belief. Rhythms in reciting the creeds help affirm the essential truths of our faith and guard against false teachings and distortions of truth.
Simple Rhythms: Solitude
The practice of embracing silence offers us space to let go of the busyness and chaos so we can enter a place of quietness and contemplation. It is a deliberate turning away from the noise of the world and a turning toward the voice of God, where we can be attentive to him.
Simple Rhythms: Prayer
Prayer is a foundational practice in our faith that helps us connect with God. Prayer takes on various forms and expressions. We can adore God, confess our shortcomings, show our gratitude, ask for needs, or simply listen to seek his guidance. At its core, prayer is a rhythm that helps us build dependence on God.
Simple Rhythms: Social Justice
Finding spiritual exercise rhythms of social justice empowers us to be agents of change. It allows us to challenge injustice wherever we find it so we can transform our society. As followers of Christ, we are called to speak truth advocating for the rights and dignity of all people. In doing so, we embody the radical love and compassion of Christ and bear witness to the coming kingdom of God.
The Paradox of Following Jesus Today
A paradox contains two things that seem contradictory but both are true at the same time. Following Jesus contains a lot of these seemingly contradictory ideas. In this sermon we will dig into our calling as followers of Jesus and through understanding paradox we will become more faithful and fruitful followers of Him.

Time is a gift from God. We use it to navigate our lives and fulfill our purpose, but it's easy to lose sight of how sacred it is and give into its relentless march. Embracing the spiritual significance of time helps us recognize it as a precious resource to helps us draw closer to Jesus.
